Break Out 2014 – 9th August 2014

A talent day, wherein all the students of SFIS belonging to 4 houses (Bharathiyar, Sarojini Naidu, Janshi Rani, Netaji) had to “Break-Out” of their shell to show their talents and prove they are the best. Various competitions were held for diffent age groups. Panel Judges were Chairman , and Principal of Colours International School, Sr. Principal from JRK Group of Schools and Admin. Officer of Grace Mat. Hr. Sec. School were invited.

Independence Day – 14th August 2014

In remembrance of our freedom fighters we celebrated the 68th year of Independence with singing patriotic songs, dancing to patriotic music and giving a message on the importance of Independence and a skit enacted to show unity.

Teachers Day – 05th September 2014

“ Teaching is a work of heart” – this is how our teaching team in SFIS work. On this day our students exhibited their love for their second parents by dancing, singing, playing games with them. It was a day loaded with love and fun for the teachers.

Sports Day – 13th September 2014

SFIS 5th Annual Sports day 2014 was held on 13th September 2014. Our chief guest was Mr. Ramasubraminam – Senior Sports Analysist for Indian Cricket team & Indian Hockey team. We had our events designed in such a way to demonstrate the strength, co-ordination and self-discipline of our students. Formation of human pyramid, aerobics and formation dance were some of the jewels of the day.

Favourite Day - 29th October 2014

our kindergarten children came to school very happy carrying all their favourite things. They brought their toy, carried their favourite bag, wore their favourite dress and brought their favourite snacks and lunch to eat. The entire day was spent by playing and sharing their toys and snacks. They even played their favourite games and danced to their favourite music.

Car Wash Day – Nov 11th 2014

To bring awareness on cleanliness and safety, children of kindergarten section were introduced to ‘Car wash day’ on Nov. 11th 2014. The students got a chance to learn the parts of a bus and later had fun slashing water on the bus and themselves. All together they cleaned a school bus and enjoyed the day.

Carnival – Nov 15th 2014

It was a very memorable day of fun activities and games, for those who walked into the campus of SFIS. Being children’s day the campus had game stalls, craft stalls, food stalls, juke box, ghost house and to top everything fortune teller was there to add excitement to children.

Christmas – Dec 23th 2014

This day was celebrated as a thanks giving day, thanking the almighty for giving everyone a wonderful year. Students danced, sang songs and staged a play related to Christmas. As a surprise to children Santa clause arrived with gifts for the children to take home and shared the stage to dance to “Jingle bells” tune.

Pongal – Jan 13th 2015

It was a special day to SFIS were the entire family took part to thank the nature in the most traditional way. Campus was decorated with kollams and thoranams. The staff members put their hands together to prepare pongal with children surrounded to chant pongal-o-pongal. The day was spent by eating pongal and sugarcane, dancing and singing tamil folk songs and playing traditional games like urriaddi, thengai urrutti udaithu velaiattu, and kahiru yehzhathu velaiattu.

Father’s Day – Jun 26th 2015

Father’s day was celebrated on 26th June 2015 in our kindertgarten section. A few fathers were invited to each class and were given hands on experience of how to handle a group of three plus year olds. The time was made useful by fathers telling stories, reciting rhymes and also by performing magic shows. The day came to end by sharing gifts and cards among fathers and children.

Mother’s day – Jul 10th 2015

Care, love and affection are the words that are always associated with mothers. To honour the mothers, the kindergarten students invited a few mothers to their classes. The day was filled with joy, laughter, singing and dancing. Mothers brought gifts and snacks for the children and children in return gave them cards and crowned the mothers as “World’s Best Mom”.

Awards and prizes won by students Our students are encouraged to participate in various competitions that are organized by private bodies like, Olympiad in International and National level, Schools India for Drawing & Essay Writing in national level, Rangavasto for Drawing in National level, Creative Minds for Art & Crafts in Inter School level, Jenis for Drawing in Inter School level, Hindi Prachara Sabha for handwriting competition in State level. In sports , Swimming - Inter school level, Yoga – National level, Karate - National level, Athletic Meet in State level. Many students competed National levels and brought lareuls for the school and developed their self confidence of “I can do It” and there by motivating their peer group, “when I can, why not you”
